classic caddyI was  driving by the Red Robin on Eagle Road by Fairview in Meridian this morning and saw the banner “Classic Car Show”.  So I bothered John the manager with a quick phone call to find out more.

This is the 2nd Annual Classic Car Show for this Robin… John said they did it last year and it went really well.  This year’s event happens this coming Sunday, June 25th, from 3pm to 8pm.  He didn’t give me any contact info, so just cruise on in.  They must be expecting plenty of cars throughout the afternoon because he told me they have gift bags for the first 70 cars who show.

Car shows TWO weekends in a row!  You gotta love it.

Gorgeous day in downtown Boise today, and 160 really fine toy cars to look at.

Did you see this story?  A 1957 Plymouth Belvedere buried in a time capsule 50 years ago was unearthed yesterday, to much fanfare.  When the car was entombed it was brand new, and that bright shiney gold color Plymouth had back then.  The idea was much better than the execution however

TULSA, Okla. - A concrete vault encasing a 1957 Plymouth Belvedere buried a half-century ago may have been built to withstand a nuclear attack, but it couldn’t beat back the onslaught of moisture.

At a ceremony yesterday complete with a couple of drum rolls, crews removed a multilayered protective wrapping caked with red mud, revealing a vintage vehicle that was covered in rust and wouldn’t crank.

This is a shame

simply redDoesn’t that picture make you just want to spend an afternoon in the Boise sunshine, walking up and down row after row of nice “old cars”!

How about taking dad downtown this Sunday afternoon for the 8th Annual Kenny’s Rod Shop Father’s Day Car Show?   8th and Idaho in downtown Boise, this Sunday the 17th is the place to go.

There are spots for 160 cars in this one and it has been filled for awhile (with a waiting list to get in too), so there ought to be some nice rides on display.  Bring the water bottles and the sunscreen.

One thing I love about Boise is they aren’t afraid to close a few streets and put on a car show or two.  After this one, the Capitol City Cruise is next, on July 7th.  I can hardly wait!
