I found it interesting this morning that all the tv news shows had blurbs about the Columbine shootings from 10 years ago.  None of them mentioned the anniversary yesterday of the government killing of citizens at Waco.  Or of the beginning of the Revolutionary War.  And did you know that Patriot’s Day is all about the Boston Marathon?

I also found it interesting that our Democrat Congressman Walt Minnick is downplaying the whole Obama/guns issue, suggesting that perhaps we ought to pay more attention to economic issues because they aren’t going to do anything about guns during this Obama term.  Pay no attention to that Bobby Rush gun ban bill, it’s going nowhere.  OK.  But may I suggest that Mr Minnick will have more credibility on that if he can first convince Mr Obama, and Mr Holder, to quit expressing their belief that a new and improved AWB would be a useful thing.  Because, quite frankly, while our local news media is all over this, I don’t believe the President got Mr Minnick’s memo.

Speaking of Bobby Rush, have you ever noted that nobody ever mentions how ironic it is that a former Black Panther Party member who served jail time for firearms violations, now Democrat Congressman, is the author of a bill that would require registration of all firearms?  I guess once you get into power you can’t allow the little people to own guns, eh?  I mean, it just wouldn’t do to let any old joe off the street show up on the steps out front with shotguns or something.

When I was in WalMart the other day checking to make sure the ammo shelf was still empty, I noticed an aisle display of Lego kits.  Timely display.  When I was a kid it would have been six shooters, coonskin caps, bows and arrows, or rifles and Army helmets…
