Britain is a sad tale. But then, so is America of late. Two stories caught my eye this morning. The first is a tape of a British MEP named Daniel Hannan standing in Parliament giving the Prime Minister Gordon Brown a public upbraiding… OUTSTANDING! There IS a man with stones left in Britain. Hear hear! Wish we had a few here in our government.
The next story is the exact opposite, and reminds me so much of the American Republican Party. I can’t laugh or cry… it just is what it is. It is about the last eunuch in China.
For centuries in China, the only men from outside the imperial family who were allowed into the Forbidden City’s private quarters were castrated ones. They effectively swapped their reproductive organs for a hope of exclusive access to the emperor that made some into rich and influential politicians.
Today’s GOP, American Eunuchs, sold their stones for the chance of riches and power, only to find a new Emperor in power who doesn’t even know they exist. Yup, that’s the story.
