What an interesting story (from Jihad Watch) to show up the day after the entire left side of the universe (and half of the so-called “center right”) celebrated Obama’s executive order closing the prisoner of war/terrorist holding camp at Guantanamo Bay. Obama wants to take the moral high ground. He wants America to be great again. Just ignore the fact that the terrorists in that camp will go back to terrorising as soon as they get out.
BEIRUT, Lebanon — The emergence of a former Guantánamo Bay detainee as the deputy leader of Al Qaeda’s Yemeni branch has underscored the potential complications in carrying out the executive order President Obama signed Thursday that the detention center be shut down within a year.
The militant, Said Ali al-Shihri, is suspected of involvement in a deadly bombing of the United States Embassy in Yemen’s capital, Sana, in September. He was released to Saudi Arabia in 2007 and passed through a Saudi rehabilitation program for former jihadists before resurfacing with Al Qaeda in Yemen.
What’s all that nonsense about “America losing its credibility with the rest of the world”? How about Saudi Arabia? How about the bozos who refuse to understand that the major tenant of Islam is submission to Allah, and that if people won’t submit it’s a duty to kill them? No other religion on earth believes that. When true believers of that belief system declare war on you, you’d best take them at their word. And these are the guys Obama wants to let go? Yes, I said let go. Has he given you one hint of a plan of what to do with them once Gitmo is closed?
No answer to that, eh? I thought not.
