Next in line at Harry and Nancy’s Congressional Rescue Mission and Soup Kitchen we have Ahnauld Schwarzenegger, hat in hand, cigar in back pocket, humbly asking for a mere $7 billion.

Schwarzenegger asked the Treasury Department for a $7 billion bailout Thursday, according to The Los Angeles Times. The money is needed, the governor said, to avoid having to shut down state operations because the state fund is empty until sales and tax revenues can be collected.

“I’ll gladly pay you on Tuesday, for a hamburger today.” You bet Wimpy, coming right up.

Speaking of “wimpy”, I’m continually amazed that the Republicans are being so placid (do what you want with that) at the abuse the Donks are piling on them

Rangel said that this was another example of Republican politicians begging for a bailout.

“It’s really difficult for me to understand (how) Republicans, who want to keep big government out of the private sector, find it so easy to ask us for $700 billion to get involved in the private sector and now comes California with a well-known Republican asking to be bailed out,” Rangel said.

Anyone in the Stupid Party have an answer for old Charlie?

*crickets*

That’s what I thought, and actually, what I expected. By this point, I’m used to the Stupids in their role as punching bag for the crooks and liars that make up the Democrat party. Anyone care to take a shot at Barney Frank?   He’s been pretty pompous and self-righteous through this whole bailout affair.  You know, not only was one of his boyfriends running a gay prostitution service out of his apartment, but another boyfriend was a Fannie Mae executive.   And he’s just the one voted “Most Tabloid”.  Go down the line, look at them all, and ask yourself if there is anything here the Stupids could do to make a point or two concerning government favors, campaign contributions, or conflicts of interest.  It’s already apparent they’re going to give the Donks a pass on the Constitutionality of the whole thing.

How about the Maverick John McCain.  All you folks who tell me I have to vote for McCain “to save the country”, explain that to me again.  Where is the leadership?  Where are the stones?  I like GW Bush as a human being, but he’s been the biggest dissapointment as a President in my lifetime.  I seem to recall he was another “we have to vote for him because he’s all we’ve got” candidates, right?  And John McCain is now in that role.  Hero, check.  Loves his country, check.  Experience, check.  But questionable on the Constitution.  Amnesty.  Campaign Finance Reform.  And now Bailout 2.0… seriously, if he wanted to cop another couple conservative brownie points, he could have voted “NO” on the bailout bill and made a lot of people happy, and the damn thing would still have had plenty of votes to spare.  Don’t tell me that is cynical and typical Washington how-to-get-it-done… were you paying attention to how they got that turkey passed?  But McCain isn’t showing maverick reformer here, nor is he showing leadership right now.  He’s too busy being “bipartisan” to go after the Democrats for their part in the whole scandal.   I wouldn’t put it past him to pick AlGore in his cabinet for Environmental Advisor.  Besides, you know he’s not very good at explaining complex answers, and he’s afraid of being tarred with the “racist” brush.  So he’s business as usual on this one.  And don’t call it amnesty a bailout, damn it.  It’s a pathway to citizenship rescue plan.

Sigh.  We’re so screwed.  But you know what?  We deserve it.

As an afterthought, I know some of you are going to point out Sarah Palin as the hope here.  I like Governor Palin, but she isn’t the top of the ticket.  And let me remind you that in the debate she blamed the mess on Wall Street, and didn’t tie it to government… My wife just mentioned that she sees Sarah Palin is being held back.  Remember, a vote for McCain/Palin is a vote for McCain.  The soonest we’re going to get to vote for Sarah Palin is 2012.  Reality folks.  We live here.  It’s Obama vs McCain.  And the fix is already in.

    BillH,

I am with you on my total disappointment with the Stupid Party’s lack of intestinal fortitude in the face of the MSM lies and propaganda which have been given a pass when blaming the GOP for the Democrats crimes that have led us to this point. I told my son Thursday that the Republic I spent 32 years of my life serving (25 years active duty and 7 years as a simple servant in the Air Force) would die the minute the House passed this pile of crap and Bush signed it into law. I felt that way when I heard it on the radio when I was running some errands in Boise yesterday and I still feel that way at this very moment.

The bailout bill was as unconstitutional as the McCain/Feingold restriction on the 1st Amendment. The founding fathers are spinning in their graves so fast I bet we could power the entire country on the kinetic energy they are generating alone. Of course our electrical grid and crumbling infrastructure couldn’t handle the output thanks to the interference of the environmentalist and their Democrat allies that want all us living in dark caves subsisting on what gruel they would hand out to the unenlightened masses. I have a lot of problems with the McCain/Kennedy amnesty we dodged the bullet over a year ago and fear the restrictions the McCain/Lieberman would try to impose on our 2nd Amendment rights barely confirmed by the “Men in Black” this summer (I guess Thomas Jefferson was right in fearing the loss of our freedoms thanks to the judiciary). I do like Sarah Palin, but have found McCain’s leadership to control the bipartisan pork fest which has lead to the complete and total control of our monetary system under Czar Paulson the 1st less than inspiring.

Most of the folks I have talked to in my community of Mountain Home and the Air Force Base were not thrilled with this bailout and many are arming up and have contingency plans to bug out to the surrounding mountains if things go the way many of us fear. Needless to say the Danskin, Soldier, and Sawtooth ranges are going to be mighty crowded if the dictatorship the anointed one will impose if all three branches are governed by the Democrats. My wife and I refuse to vote the lesser of two evils every again. Along with throwing Congressman Simpson into the unemployment line on Nov 4th I believe we will both be voting none of the above for most positions (especially POTUS) as a protest to the criminals and cowards that have just sold us into indentured servitude. As much as we adore Governor Palin neither one of us is willing to give McCain our vote.

Now that the state controls the means of banking it will just be a matter of time before they also control the means of production turning all of us into their slaves. All hail the Untied Socialist States of America. We are boned! Very soon I fear we will have to make the choice to stand and fight our corrupt feckless uncaring bloated government or sit down shut up and be their slaves. I and my family have decided would rather die on our feet than on our knees. Molon Labe!

Spent the afternoon listening to Mozart and loading hunting rounds. Still have some empty brass… might have to go buy some more powder. Watching the current events is wearing on me right now, since there seems to be very little I can actually do. Getting ready for hunting season just might be what the doctor ordered.
