The Saturday morning coffee, the lawn can wait, “must read” list:
Walter Williams, The Oklahoma Rebellion
One of the more disgusting sights for me to is to watch a president, congressman or federal judge take an oath to uphold and defend the United States Constitution, when in reality they either hold constitutional principles in contempt or they are ignorant of those principles.
Jonah Goldberg, on “political peak oil” and “bipartisanship”
It seems that whenever things go bad and government is largely to blame, politicians look for villains other than themselves.
Mark Alger, Just Making A Point, about internet taxes and interstate commerce
No tax or duty shall be laid on articles exported from any state.
(Bear in mind that the original theory of the U.S. was that the States were sovereign entities and the Federal Government was their creature—theirs and the People’s.)
Hmmm, there’s that pesky idea that the Federal government is the agent of the sovereign states… damn, that’d really screw up the big nanny central government types… at least it would if the people were paying attention.
And then, if there’s still coffee left in the pot, The Liberty Sphere has a Second Amendment News Roundup. Oh yeah, there’s also some links to reports on government subsidies in the comments of my ethanol post.
