This morning we celebrate the official start of summer here in the Boise area,  marked by the opening of the Boise River for floating.  Six miles upriver from downtown Boise we have a wonderful park where there are innertubes, floats, rafts, and kayaks available for public rental.  One of our best things to do in the summer when it’s 100 degrees out is to park in the park downtown, catch the White Whale shuttle bus out to Barber Park, and rent your preferred river floating device.  Just drop into the  river and take a wonderful couple hours floating back to town.

Glowball Warming Update:  It is currently 39 degrees in Boise this morning.  Mixed snow and rain was reported at the Boise airport weather station during the night.

There will not be a line for floats at the Barber Park Rental Station today.  Wet suits advised.
