Ten minutes after the doors opened at the Gun show over in Boise I was able to find only one bag (50 count) of new .308 brass… sigh. One guy told me he had 2 bags. Last night. Sold them to another guy setting up his table. I asked if he would point the guy out, and he laughed and said “he told me they were going home with him and wouldn’t be back Saturday”. So I guess a bag of 50 is the best I can do.
I saw Clayton Cramer there. Wished him luck and shook his hand. If you are reading this from Boise or Elmore Counties here in Idaho you ought to check out Mr Cramer’s run for State Senator. He’s definitely a better candidate than you guys have in office now over there. UPDATE: for those of you who read Clayton Cramer’s Blog, I want to say that I did NOT talk to Mr Cramer about conspiracy theories, Catholicism, or Ron Paul. Hearing that conversation would have been more interesting than many of the tables in the auditorium however.
Lots of AKs, not so many ARs. Plenty of black plastic pistols. Lots of hunting rifles. The black powder guys were there, with a handful of nice ones. The machine gun/military collecters were there too. I always enjoy looking at that stuff. The Luger collection was there, and a gentleman with a great collection of 1903 Springfields. Ammo was pretty available. Even saw tins of 7.62×54R and .308 NATO for sale. Only a couple S & W Model 19s though… had to leave for the day and go think about that some… called my sweetie…
And this afternoon I decided to go back over and pick up the blued Model 19-3. Cross that off the want list, and call it my BAG Day purchase. I’ve never shot one before, so I’m looking forward to getting in to the range later this week. Maybe I’ll even try out that new ePostal. Here’s a picture. No, it isn’t a top condition collector or a safe queen. I bought it to shoot it, and it looks like it’ll do just fine.
