In the midst of my errand/work driving today, my truck took an “unexpected” swerve into the parking lot of one of the sporting goods stores up the road.  Of course, that prompted me to stop the motor, and go inside to see if perhaps there was something I didn’t know about going on in there that I might need to know about.  I figured if I did that, the truck would probably run just fine when I came back.

Not much going on in there.  The usual stuff hanging on the walls and sitting in the case.  No great deals on ammo either.  Full prices on all of the scopes.  No laser rangefinder deals to be found either.  Hmmm… so I started thumbing through the books, browsing the “reloading for competition” section.  Then it came to me, I should pick up a bunch of reloading stuff and start handrolling for my new rifle.  That must be why the truck was acting so strangely.

So I strolled over to the reloading aisle and started checking for what I wanted.  Hmmm.  No presses in stock (except that really expensive one they haven’t been able to move since they opened).  No kits, either.  Pretty slim pickings on the bullet shelf too.   But worst of all, not a single piece of .308 Win brass anywhere to be found.  They did NOT want me to spend money today I guess.  So I’ll just fool them, and drive the 13 miles over to the next store.

Same results.  I guess it wasn’t my day to spend money.

Via The Volokh Conspiracy, full coverage of Heller goings on will be all day tomorrow on the Scotus Blog

Tomorrow at 10 am eastern, the Court will hear argument in DC v. Heller - better known as the “DC Guns” case - and it is one of the most hotly anticipated oral arguments in recent memory. Only a lucky few will be allowed in the Courtroom tomorrow to watch the hearing, so we’ll be providing full coverage of all of the developments here on SCOTUSblog for everyone else.

The centerpiece of our coverage will be a “LiveBlog” of the oral argument based on the C-SPAN audio feed, and we’ll be debuting a new AJAX-based plugin to bring this to you.

Volokh has some interesting posts related to the case as well. Go. Read. Pray for Freedom.
