Michelle has some words for all of us grumbling, upset conservatives
If you can’t stomach John McCain, channel your support and energies to Republicans who do represent your values and who have treated the conservative base as allies instead of enemies. There are a new generation of combat veterans running for office who haven’t made a career of trashing the base.
Yup! That’s the ticket. Despite what the newspapers and beltway pundits have to say, conservatism ISN’T over. Just like BJ Clinton wasn’t as bad as he could have been, and GWB wasn’t near as good as he told us he would be, so to will be the McCain or Obama or HRC presidency. The genius of the system our Founders put in place was a system with enough checks and balances so that one person will never be king. There are plenty of other men and women in other offices we need to support. We also need to be living and spreading the conservative message all the way down to the community, even the family level. That’s the only way the right things will get done.
Don’t sit and wait for the fence to get built. It won’t be finished under the Bush administration or a McCain administration or an Obama or Hillary Clinton administration. What you can do is pressure mayors and police chiefs and city councils to rescind dangerous sanctuary policies. What you can do is alert county sheriffs that you want them to work with the feds to end illegal alien catch-and-release policies in your neighborhood.. What you can do is stop patronizing businesses that you know are knowingly employing illegal immigrants using fake Ids and stolen Social Security numbers.
Did you notice that both of our senators voted to block the larded up Democrat “stimulus” package, and helped the Republicans get one right for a change and block Harry Reid? Excellent job Senator Crapo! Thank you. And yes, you too Larry. And for the rest of us, we need to get back to work too. It’s going to take a whole lot more than a POS candidate like John McCain to kill conservativism. That’ll only happen if conservatives lay down and give up on their own. Don’t be that guy! As Michelle says,
Get involved. Don’t calm down. Get fired up.

I agree with Michelle too about getting fired up. It is time to start pressuring our State legislators in Boise on drafting up a bill to make hiring of illegal invaders the same crime it is in Arizona and Oklahoma. The only good news I have seen today is the Arizona law was upheld in Federal court today. Fight to win on the local level because the odds are against us now on the national. We have a very tiny voice on the national level and with McCain as the nominee I will just have to write-in none of the above in November and go for the conservatives on the rest of the ballot. I will not stay home and after listening to his CPAC speech all I got out of it was shut-up, hold your nose, and vote for me for you have nowhere else to go. I appreciate how a woman suffering battered wife syndrome feels after the way the GOP has treated us all over the past couple of elections. I guess the GOP didn’t buy the clue in 2006 after all.
