Is it just me, or has politics (and life) gotten extremely hillarious (no pun) lately?  I mean, really, can you make this stuff up?

UFO moonbat in chief Dennis Kucinich brings a motion of impeachment against Vice President Cheney before the House, and the Democrats are forced into a Keystone Cops tail chasing trying to keep the Republicans for voting to “bring it on”…

A town in Idaho votes to legalize marijauna.  On the same day, the Peoples Republic of Oregon votes NO on taxing tobacco companies to pay for children’s health care (what was the LV betting line on THAT?)…

Ted Kennedy is the leading expert and spokesman against drowning and waterboarding…

Ron Paul makes a gazillion dollars on the Internet in one day (no word yet whether it was a frustration response by the Paulbots being denied access to online polls)…

Mrs BJ Clinton playing the “I’m the girl” card…

Mr BJ Clinton playing the “don’t hit the girl” card…

Pat Robertson endorses Rudy…

The king of Saudi Arabia visited the Pope, at the Vatican…

He brought a gift too.  A silver, gold, and jewel encrusted sword…

Fresh off all the hate-filled rhetoric from feminists and leftists, towards the speakers during Islamo-fascism Awareness Week, a Saudi cleric’s video taped discussion, aimed at teaching young Moslem men how to beat their wives correctly, has gained almost no notice in the American press…

The head of the U.N. nuclear watchpuppy organization is pretty upset that the US and Israel didn’t tell him about Syria’s nuclear program before Israel blew it up.  No word yet on whether anyone is going to tell him about Iran’s nuclear program before it gets blown up…

French President Sarkozy addressed the American Congress today, at once putting to rest the idea that the rest of the civilized world “hates us”.  When asked why he kept laughing softly to himself, he responded, “I just realized that I am more conservative than 80% of the Members here.”  Ok, I made that up.  But it might be true…

Unless you’re a desparate housewife, who needs Hollywood writers?  Real life is funny enough!

Earlier this year my Sweetie and I took a drive up to Hailey to look at some properties.  We were tossing over the idea of trying to find a small place to use for a family vacation/holiday place.  My folks used to take us up there at Christmas time when I was in High School.  I love it over there, and so does my lady, so we gave it some serious consideration.

This morning, not so much.  We were aware that there was a certain celebrity, hippie contingent over there, but didn’t realize it had gotten large enough to do this.

..Hailey’s electorate approved three of four marijuana legalization or reform initiatives in a city election Tuesday, Nov. 6.

Voter returns that came in late Tuesday night showed close voting but approval of initiatives to legalize medical use of marijuana, to make enforcement of marijuana laws the city’s lowest police priority and to legalize industrial use of hemp.

One wag commented that it must have taken an intense effort by the organizers to keep enough potheads off the pipe long enough to go to the polls.

..Ryan Davidson, chairman of The Liberty Lobby of Idaho and the man who got the initiatives on the Hailey ballot, could not be reached for comment late Tuesday but said earlier that he was confident the initiatives would succeed.

“Could not be reached for comment”?  Probably at the wake for Kucinich’s impeachment resolution.  And do you think the Idaho Mountain Express photographer was trying to make that flattering photograph?  Or did he just get lucky?  Whatever it was, it’s interesting.  I have family out of state, who don’t know that much about Idaho.  Farmers, ranchers, hunters, ski bums and skinheads is pretty much how they think of us over here.  I wonder if I should tell them about this?  Nah…

At least the grown-ups are still in charge here.

..Meanwhile, the Idaho Attorney General’s Office has declined to say what it will do if any of the Hailey initiatives pass, but issued a statement last week reminding voters that possession of marijuana is a crime under both state and federal law.

City Attorney Ned Williamson predicted prior to the election that the city will be subjected to future litigation if the initiatives pass and said that the costs could be high for Hailey taxpayers.

Yup.  There’s a reason they call it DOPE.
