I haven’t slipped a video in here in a few days, so we’ll do one as a “public safety announcement”.  Be safe out there.

This is an awful sight, caught by a patrol officer’s traffic cam, of what can happen when you run a red light.  They’re always telling automobile drivers to pay attention to motorcycles, but when I rode, I learned very quickly that it was up to me to defend myself ’cause 99% of the folks driving cars are blind, and the other 1% are putting on make-up while they talk on the phone and change CDs.

Four firefighters have filed a sexual harassment complaint against the city of San Diego after being forced to participate in a “gay pride” parade.  If this doesn’t chap you,

In 28 years of responding to fires and saving lives, Fire Capt. John Ghiotto of the San Diego Fire Department never thought his job would require him to attend a Gay Pride parade.

“I’ve dealt with finding bodies in burning buildings, traffic accidents with kids, but I’ve never been so stressed out before until this incident,” Ghiotto told FOXNews.com in an exclusive interview.

Ghiotto and three other firefighters filed a sexual harassment complaint against the city’s fire department last week after being forced to attend the parade in uniform despite objections they made to superiors.

Yes, forced

The four men allege they were ordered by a battalion chief to attend last month’s parade and feared consequences for failure to do so, since refusing to follow a direct order constitutes disciplinary action.

If the men refused to follow the direct order, they could have been suspended on the spot and stripped of any chance for a promotion, according to their manual, Ghiotto said.

Out of control PC BS… I would love to see some higher-ups in San Diego get their heads handed to them at the end of all of this!  The whole idea of cities sanctioning, much less forcing employees to participate, in this kind of event is just wrong, and I hope these four men prevail.  If you have a strong stomach, read the whole thing.

Amnesty supporters and the open borders crowd continue to downplay the lack of security on our borders, particularly the southern one.  Is it too much that they read the article in today’s Washington Times?  Wake-up call, again.

Islamic extremists embedded in the United States — posing as Hispanic nationals — are partnering with violent Mexican drug gangs to finance terror networks in the Middle East, according to a Drug Enforcement Administration report.

This is a 2005 report, by the way.

“It is very likely that any future ‘September 11th’ type of terrorist event in the United States may be facilitated, wittingly or unwittingly, by drug traffickers operating on both sides of the United States-Mexico border,” the DEA report says.

I find it interesting that it also says something that many bloggers have expressed for years, and that is, as a country, we have gone back to a 9/10 mindset, not only in our cultural attitudes but in some of our governmental policies as well. We continue to have the “religion of peace” and “moderate Muslim” memes pushed on us, and our intelligence and LE agencies don’t really communicate any better than they did before multiple airliners were hijacked and used as missles against us. Remember that?

In the two years since the report was written, other DEA intelligence officials have said they are still struggling to cooperate with and share and gather information from other lead U.S. agencies charged with fighting the war on terrorism.

Lack of information sharing between U.S. intelligence agencies is creating a blind spot in the war on terror and has left the U.S. vulnerable to another attack, the report states.

The most disquieting part of the article explains another example of our own freedoms, combined with a PC bureaucracy, being used to set us up for another attack.  Here is a comment made about the findings in a 2006 Homeland Security report

“Al Qaeda has been trying to smuggle terrorists and terrorist weapons illegally into the United States,” the 2006 document states. “This organization has also tried to enter the U.S. by taking advantage of its most vulnerable border areas. The seek to smuggle OTMs [other than Mexicans] from Middle Eastern countries into the U.S.”

Peter Brown, terrorism and security consultant, stated that the “biggest element” to the DEA report is the ease with which terrorist cells have taken on new identities.

“The ability for people to completely transform their nationalities absent of their own identities is a dangerous step in the evolution of this cross-border operation,” he said. “This is a true threat.”

Lending credence to Mr. Brown’s concern, an El Paso, Texas, law-enforcement report documents the influx of “approximately 20 Arab persons a week utilizing the Travis County Court in Austin to change their names and driver’s licenses from Arabic to Hispanic surnames.”

“Arabic to Hispanic surnames”, eh? Is anyone paying attention here? The border situation and the immigration debate aren’t simply about free trade and cheap labor, it is also about national security. I don’t see a single Democrat candidate who gets it, and I’ve got to tell you, I’m not convinced by any of the Republicans either. I’m afraid it is going to take another 9/11 event to get this country to wake up.
