This is how you kill hornets in Idaho. First, you stake out the nest, see. Then, you wait till they throw a big party or something. As soon as you get ‘em all collected, you hit ‘em with the best bug bomb you can get.
Turns out, that is also exactly how you take out 100 Taliban at once. From Afghanistan, this news
Kabul, Afghanistan (AHN) - About 100 Taliban militants have been killed by bombs from an air strike conducted by coalition forces in southern Afghanistan, officials said on Saturday.
General Mohammad Zahir Azimi told reporters that the coalition-led air strike targeted a gathering of militants on Thursday that took place in the Baghran district of the Helmand province. Azimi said that the military had acted after it had gathered intelligence during a daylong surveillance campaign.
“The enemy casualty is very high… it might be more than 100,” he said adding that five senior commanders of the Taliban were also killed during the operation, Agency France Press reported.
Newkerala.com has more information about why the gathering took place.
Coalition troops carried out an air strike in remote Baghran district of Helmand province Thursday when many Taliban militants gathered to watch the execution of persons accused of cooperating with the government, Azimi said.
Five senior Taliban commanders including Mullah Rahim, the top Taliban commander in Helmand, were among the killed.
Azimi said Mansor Dadullah, a top Taliban military commander, was at the site before the bombing. There was no confirmation that he was killed.
Referring to the incident, the US-led coalition forces said “During a sizable meeting of senior Taliban commanders, coalition forces employed precision guided munitions on their location after ensuring there were no innocent Afghans in the surrounding area.”
Good job military! Somebody call Barrack and ask him if that’s what he had in mind when he was trash-talking the other day. And while you’re at it, give Kerry a call too. He doesn’t think anyone is paying attention to the Taliban.
