shrinking cirles targetI just discovered The Conservative UAW Guy’s blog, in my wandering around (clicking on blogroll links)…

It appears that he’s got a monthly shooting contest going on.  July’s contest just got posted on Sunday, so we have a whole month to play.  I think I might have to give it a go, simply because it looks like fun.

For the rules and a link to the target, go visit his blog.  Wonder if he’d mind an Idahoan or two playing along?

UPDATE: in the comments, jimmyb informs me that the ePostal matches originate with Mr. Completely, and that he is the host for this month’s contest.  That’s good for me, because now I’ve found two more blogs to read.

So later today we’re looking at 102 degrees or so.  We’ll get the pancake feed in the park, with grandma, cousins, and one of our daughters, out of the way this morning while it is still cool.  We’ll sit on the deck under the trees and throw the dog toy for the grand-dog to chase, drink lemonade and tea, listen for the sounds of the race cars from the speedway, discuss whether we have the energy to go back up to town for the parade, and then wait for the dark and the fireworks…

And somewhere in there, I want to read a couple essays.  Here is Kim du Toit on citizenship.  And here is Bill Whittle’s July 4th piece from a few years back, Trinity, which he mentioned this morning on his blog.  It’s a two parter, so don’t miss the second half of it.  Excellent writers, both of them.  Don’t miss ‘em.

Have a wonderful Fourth!
